Independence Day , I remember this as waiting for Jalebi(sweets) in the queue during school days. As I have grown, I got know what freedom is, we have fundamental rights. But, does every citizen of the country avail the freedom? A woman inside the boundary wall, who is a prey of violence, does she has right to speak against evil? A 10 year old boy, who works at tea stall, does he not have right to enjoy his childhood? A transgender, who is not accepted by any company, do they have the right to employment with respect? A meritorious girl in countryside, who is going to marry this year, does she has right to build her career instead of being housewife?
The list of the questions is too long and answer we all know expressly. It is the easiest thing for all of us, sitting comfortably on sofa and posting tricolor pictures to claim our patriotism. We claim our love for the nation, but how does it matter, If we can't see the compulsion of the woman, can't give joy to the boy, can't feel the pain of the transgender, can't see the dreams in her eyes. Because, people (including them) makes the nation.
Hope, one day everyone will have equal freedom. 74th Independence Day 🇮🇳♥️
